Another way?

[edit]

Oh, I was just getting ready to leave when I saw your last comments. This is the way that I know, as changed here. Is that good enough? {{sc}} is {{small-caps}}. There is another variation {{asc}} aka {{All small caps}} which I've used occasionally.

There are so many formatting templates possible/available that I don't know. I end up looking at other people's work to discover them. Shenme (talk) 14:02, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! This is the first time I'm transcribing a text on Wikisource (previously I just published texts that were already digitised, or I translated them), so I've got a lot to learn. (The fun part is that this text itself is also about transcription). I appreciate that you're helping me to proofread and validate this text. @Shenme: btw in response to your comment here: I think it's a good idea to check and fix all the indentations in a row once the whole text has been proofread and validated. These things stretch multiple pages and it's sometimes difficult to notice that the page you're looking at is actually indented (and the previous 10 pages as well, but you forgot that while reading). Similarly, we probably should look for a solution for the vertical spacing issue in the Contents once those are all TOCified, and fix them all in a row. Good ideas? Breaking news

[edit]

You might have noticed something very strange when entering text "209" into paragraph 322. If so, it was not your problem, not your fault. I've asked if anyone else has ever seen anything so strange - RTL characters rearrange following non-alpha strings - wondrous weirdness warning. I love computers. ;-) Shenme (talk) 02:35, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Let there be academese!

[edit]

I've added The New Testament in the original Greek - Introduction and Appendix (1882) to the New Texts listing at top right of main page.

I'm sure that knowing all the glitches ahead of time would've been more efficient, but after a little work it is in main space.

I was away for awhile practicing on Annual report of the superintendent of Negro Affairs in North Carolina, 1864. Wanted to do something smaller to get ready for the larger.

Part of the effort was wanting to link from the section/paragraph numbers in the TOC to the main space pages. This 'works', but isn't precise enough. I think the automatic page numbering in the left margin is making the browser not find the right place. It displays sometimes a couple pages too early.

I also wanted to make the inline references work. See for instance here (paragraph "47.") where the " (§§ 5, 6) " and " (§ 46) " are links that work.

Hope it looks good enough. Shenme (talk) 03:15, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so very much, Shenme, I could not have done this without you! I hope we can work together again in the future. Kind regards, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 04:04, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
