PD-USGov
[edit]Please don't tag works of people who aren't employed by the US government as PD-USGov. Works of people from the UK, even written to the US government, aren't works of the federal US government. We do have {{PD-UKGov}}, but that has a lot more restrictions which I don't know if they apply.--Prosfilaes (talk) 08:13, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've started a discussion on these files at Wikisource:Possible_copyright_violations#Works_written_to_FDR.--Prosfilaes (talk) 08:21, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've seen the discussion and understand the issues. Until we know for sure whether {{PD-UKGov}} can/should be used I'll be sure not to use it and only work on those documents that clearly fall under {{PD-USGov}}. I'll wait to go back and remove the tags until this is all sorted out. RinoLanda (talk) 16:23, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- The discussion at Wikisource:Possible_copyright_violations#Works_written_to_FDR has come to the conclusion that the most appropriate copyright license for the Churchill and other UK government officials' documents is {{OGL}}, the UK Open Government License. I agreed with the conclusion and have updated the flagged pages to reflect this copyright status. RinoLanda (talk) 18:21, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
