Savage poem

[edit]

Hello. I noticed your creation of an Index page for a poem by Minot J. Savage, and was wondering if you had any questions or needed any help with the creation. If you are merely wishing to create a Mainspace page for a single poem, you can do so by creating Where is God? (clicking on the redlink will open up a creation page), and using the correct header and formatting to create your page. If you need help with formatting poetry, some can be found here. Index:Pages are for use (usu. in conjunction with Wikimedia Commons) primarily for whole books and not "orphaned" poems. Be sure also to cite your source either in the notes section of the header parameter, or on the Talk page for the piece. If you have any questions, feel free to ask for help at the Scriptorium help section. Londonjackbooks (talk) 02:26, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I was lost because the Beginner's page made it seem like I had to create an Index page for everything. SL93 (talk) 15:23, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
I thought that might have been the issue. Ideally, works here are each backed by a scan (Index), but we do have scores of "orphaned" works/pieces here as well that are not linked to an Index. The most important thing is to cite your source and make sure it is in the public domain, which Savage's would be. Londonjackbooks (talk) 16:20, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
I created the page. I think that I did the page and source information correctly. SL93 (talk) 17:29, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Looks correct. If you have any interest in the future, I have added Index:Poems, Savage, 1882.djvu to WS for proofreading. You can find "Where is God?" on p. 113. Londonjackbooks (talk) 17:38, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
