Deleted On Visiting Westminster Abbey as copyvio

[edit]

Hi. English Wikisource operates on US copyright, and a 1933 work written overseas would generally still be under copyright in the US. You can see the broad categories of acceptable copyright tags. Also the best guide page at http://copyright.cornell.edu/resources/publicdomain.cfm. Now it is not absolute that the work is in copyright as there are some exceptions, though generally we find that non-US published works will be copyrighted. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:14, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK. Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 23:15, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikisource hosts editions, and separately

[edit]

I have reverted your edits to Harden worksheet. That presentation is a transcription of that sourced document. If you have another or extended sourced version then please present it separately and we will disambiguate the work with {{versions}}. We don't have one universal truth approach, we will take all alternate sourced versions of works. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:58, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

At Fault

[edit]

We don’t really import from PG anymore. If you want, I can see if I can find a scan for you. Also, the work should be split into its individual chapters. Languageseeker (talk) 19:56, 26 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

OK. I just didn't have time to split the work as such on October 26. Maybe I can do it now or in the coming week? ('Cause I usually work with Wikimedia Commons.) Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 15:03, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry, I did it all today. Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 17:47, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Secondary Transcriptions

[edit]

Hi, Wikisource no longer accepts secondary transcriptions such as those from other websites. If you need help setting up an Index, please let me know. Languageseeker (talk) 21:42, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please don't

[edit]

Please do not tag pages with {{blocked user}}. It will be used when necessary. It does not get used to tag spambots, and I truly don't need help with this. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:02, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oh. Sorry about that.
By the way, why don't we have James William Foley's books (like Songs of Schooldays, 1906, and The Letters of William Green, 1914) here on Wikisource? They ARE in the public domain now, as a visit to Google Books would show. (Same with Almost Fairy Children: Or the Cozy Evenings of Brother and Sister, 1909, by Edwin Herbert Lewis.) Cautionary Tales for Children

[edit]

This work was mostly transcluded from scan, and the main page merely needed to have this as well, rather than trying to wikify and duplicate the content --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:43, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, OK. Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 15:55, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Confessio Amantis

[edit]

Where is the Modern English text coming from? We do not blend editions together. So if the John Gower text is in Middle English, it should follow his Middle English. Another edition should not be grafted into the same copy. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:41, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for not specifying that the Modern English text was a Wikisource translation. (I was following the example of Guan ju.) Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 16:45, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
