Hi, and thanks for your contributions to the PSM project. After validating your work, I realized that you may not be aware that there is a PSM Proofreading guide. This lists the format standard of all sections of the publication, from article titles to paragraph formats with the use of templates to maintain a consistency of style from Volume 1 to Volume 87, which is the last volume dealing with academic and scientific subjects.

The overall project is described HERE, and for clarifying a particular section's style, it's best to consult a previously proofread section. All pages from Volume 1, Article 1, have been proofread and standardized, as I check every page.

During the validation process, I noticed ON THIS PAGE, that you ("almost correctly") applied the {{smaller}} template to the paragraphs in the "Publications Received" section. However, since we never reduced the font size of that section in previous volumes, we cannot do it here - unless we apply the change to all previous "Publications Received" sections. As of volume 34 there are about 190 of these sections.

The ("almost correctly") in the previous paragraph, I am referring to the use of special font size templates which proportionately reduce both the font size and the line height. These would be {{|tl|fs90/s}} etc. These templates were introduced for PSM, while older font size templates like {{smaller}} etc., do not change the line height in proportion to the font size.

Sorry for this long post, but if you need some additional info, please contact me. — Ineuw talk 04:54, 9 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Added custom 'User' defined character list to the Charinsert.

[edit]

I have taken the liberty of adding to your character insert list a "User" defined list of accented characters that you are most likely to come across in many texts, but especially in the PSM project. you can see the list here and hope it's OK with you.— Ineuw talk 01:52, 10 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Working on the same chapter/volume

[edit]

Please don't take offense. It's not a good idea that we work on the same chapters and volumes. One reason is that we almost had a edit collision this morning and I stopped working because it can lead to some unexpected chain of events. Either of us can lose our edits without realizing

Another reason is that this is the third time that I am going through the volumes between 1 and 87, and this is the first chance I have to read in depth, rather than being concerned with all the tasks that were completed before reaching this point.

It would be better if you pick articles in another volume. There is plenty interesting stuff left to be proofread. — Ineuw talk 01:19, 5 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Ineuw: No problem. Thanks for the heads up!

Illustrations for History of Architecture, vol I

[edit]

Hi. I wanted to apologise for adding the illustrations of this book to Wikimedia Commons (in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:A_History_of_Architecture_in_All_Countries_(vol._I.) ) I was under the impression that you had stopped work on this because of the numerous illustrations (>350). Only recently, while validating some of the work you'd done, it struck me that you could have stopped for the purpose of working on the images. If this is indeed so, shall I stop work on the illustrations (Perhaps I could work on those for the second vol.)? Or work on those in the second half of the book (pg 300 on)?

I aplogise again for not checking properly before starting work. —Akme 12:19, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Block center and font size

[edit]

It is usually much easier to set the font size as part of {{block center}} than it is to insert another template. In other words, you can use:

{{block center|style=font-size:92%|<poem>Start text here . . . }}

To adjust the font size along with the centering block:

Start text here
The style parameter
Adjusts the size.

{{nop}}

[edit]

Hi—thanks for your work on the PotM. Please be aware that the {{nop}} template needs to go on its own line, like this. BethNaught (talk) 19:09, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Arabic numbering for chapters

[edit]

Hi. For reproducing works at enWS, we use arabic numerals rather than reproduce roman numerals, irrespective of what was in the work. I have updated those in ToC in the work that you are reproducing. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:57, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
