At the invitation of President Trump, President Emmanuel Macron traveled to Washington this Monday, February 24, 2025.

This day marked the third anniversary of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

In this moment of particular gravity, France, the United States, and European allies must maintain a permanent and confident dialogue, as the security of Ukraine and Europe are at stake.

In the morning, the two heads of state participated in a videoconference with the other G7 members.

They then met for a bilateral discussion followed by a working lunch.

Review their preliminary statements

The two leaders discussed the war in Ukraine, as well as the strategic cooperation between our two countries and the international crises where we must act for peace.

President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the need to build a strong and lasting peace.

A peace that is neither Ukraine's capitulation nor a ceasefire without guarantees.

Review the joint press conference.
