More Than A Thousand REA Meeting Friday
Two Washington men, Joe Jasper and Max Lindauer, were elected members of the board of directors of the Crawford County Electric cooperative, which serves this area, at the annual meeting last Friday at Bourbon. Nine board members were elected, the three with the highest vote for three-year terms, the next three for two-year terms, and the last three for one-year terms. Ben Eldredge of Bourbon, S. H. Hicks of Huzzah, and M. McMurray of Steelville, were elected for three- year terms; R. H. Pillen of St. Clair, J. G. Marr of Cuba and Joe Jasper of Washington, for two-year terms, and Max Lindauer of Washington, Joe Addis of DeSoto, and George Koelling of Sullivan for one-year terms. The directors will elect a president and vice-president from their group and will direct the affairs of the REA in this area for the coming year. More than a thousand attended the meeting. They came from all parts of the district, which serves eight counties.
