MARQUES, Augusto Oscar (MACAO), Teacher of Chinese language in Central School; b. May 2, 1853; m. Leopoldina Matthilde Reinalda Tales. Educ.: St. Joseph's College, Macao. Secretary and Interpreter to Portuguese Consul General (Senior Consul), Shanghai, 1898-1901; during Boxer troubles was entrusted with all correspondence between Consular Body and Chinese authorities, and received official letter of thanks from Consular Body; 2nd Chinese Interpreter and assistant Chief of "Reparticao do Expedianti Sinico."
