(1860–1935)

American author and poet. Wrote under the names Adah Louise Sutton (her maiden name) and Louise A. Field. As Field, she is known for continuing the stories based on the character Peter Rabbit created by Beatrix Potter. Advocate for the causes of working women and opposition to vivisection. Married to Arthur J. Saalfield, president of Saalfield Publishing (OH).
