Philips, Francis, B.A. Christ Church, Oxon, high sheriff Lanc. 1871, J.P., a student of the Inner Temple 24 Jan., 1853 (then aged 23), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1855 (eldest son of Francis Aspinall Philips, Esq., of Bank Hall, co. Lanc.); born 3 Jan., 1830; married 17 Jan., 1850, Caroline Mary, 4th dau. of Rev. Charles Kenrick Prescot, M.A., rector of Stockport (see Foster's Baronetage, 1883 edn.).
