Abthuh Wake, A.M., succeeded in Hilary term 1567.
He died 1 1U1 July 1596, and was buried on the north
side of tho choir. Richard Thornton, A.M., was installed 13th July
J596, Ly virtue of a grant of the next prebend dated
16th Oct.. 1588. lie died znd Jan. 1614, and was
buried in the cathedral. William Ballow, S.T.P., succeeded 3rd Jan. 1614.
He died in Deo. 1618, and was buried in the cathedral. William Piers, S.T.P., succeeded 16th Dee. 1618.
In 1622 he was made dean of Peterborough, and in
1630 bishop of Peterborough, but lnld this in coin-
mendam with it till 1632, when he was translated to
Bath and Wells. Thom is I11-. S. T. P., principal of Hart hall, succeeded
in 1632. and was ejected by the Parliamentary visitors
in 164S. He died 20th June [649, and was buried
in one of the aisles of the cathedral. Henry Wilkinson, S.T.P., was put in by the same
authority that ejected hifi pred< <', ggor i 2th April [648 ; but on the Restoration he was forced to leave it. Ob.
June 1675, at Claphani in Surrey, and buried in St. Dunstan's, Fleet Btreet, London.
JASPEB MaTNE, S.T.P.. Was substituted in the room
of Wilkinson 27th July 1660. He died 6th Dec.
1 j, and was buried 10th Dec. in the second aisle
joining on the north side of the cathedral of Christ
Church. He was also archdeacon of Chichester.
I3kx.ia.mix Woodroff, A.M., was installed 17th Dec. 1672. Ob. in 1711, and buried in tho church of St. Bartholomew, Royal Exchange, London.
George Smalridge, nominated 27th Aug., and in- stalled 6th Sept. 1711, vice Woodroff.
Thomas Terry, installed 30th July 1713, vice Smal- ridge promoted to the deanery.
Richard Trevor, M.A., 8th Nov. 1735; became bi- shop of St. David's in 1743-4, and held the canonry in commendam till translated to Durham in 17.52.
