Alurki) was a witness to a deed of archbishop Thomas H. in 1 1 13^ Hugh was a witness to the charter of foundation of a monastery of St. Clement near York by archbishop Thurstan, in the year 1130^^, and also to that of erection of another monastery (de Fontibus) in 1 132^^. William ue S. Barbara possessed this dignity in 1138"^". In 1 142 he was elected bishop of Durham-". Robert de Gaunt was so styled in the year 1148"^-. Robert Botivelein died possessed of this deanery in 1 1 86-'^ ; he was succeeded by Hubert Walter, who was dean in 1186'J^; and in 1189 he was elected bishop of Salisbury-*'. Henry Marshall was elected 6th Sept. 1189, and in I 1 94 was made bishop of Exeter. Simon de Apulia was elected in ii94-'*», and in 1214 he likewise was made bishop of Exeter. Maugerius held the dignity in i 199. Hamo was dean in 1206.
