He held the office in 12641^. Almaric de Montfort was appointed 7th Feb. 1264-5, by the King, after the death of Maunsel, during the vacancy of the see^^. The appointment, however, was revoked 7th Aug. following, (as the King was compelled to make it, he being then in the custody of Simon de Montfort, earl of Leicester,) and the treasurership was bestowed on Edmund Mortimer ^7. He was admitted 17th Sept. 1 265 18. He held the office in 1268. Nicholas de Wells was collated about 1270. BoGo DE Clare, or, as he is sometimes called, Bogo DE Fairfax, succeeded to this dignity about 1274, and held it in 12851^. John de Columpna held the dignity 23rd April 1 293 "20.
