He was translated to Durham in 1502. J 504 Roger Leyburx, archdeacon of Durham., was appointed 2oHen.vil. by the Pope ; on 2 1st Feb. 1504 he obtained a grant of the custody of the temporalities ^ and 12th Nov. following he had plenary restitution of them 'J. He was consecrated on Sunday ist Sept. 1504. The time of his death has not been ascertained. His will is dated 17th July 1507 ^^. 1509 John Penny, bishop of Bangor ^ was translated to Car- 24Hen. VII.. lisle by bull dated 22nd Sept. 1508, but he did not receive the spiritualities of the see until 29th June 1509. He died in 1520, and was buried in St. Mar- garet's church, Leicester. 1521 John Kite, archbishop ofArmaqh and titular archbishop 13 H.VIIT. of T/iebeSf was appointed bishop of Carlisle by papal provision, and the temporalities of the see were re- stored to him nth Nov. 1521 ^'. He died 19th June 1537, and was buried in Stepney church^-. His will, dated 18th June 1537, was proved on the 21st of that month. 1537 Robert Aldridge or Aldrich, almoner to the Quee?i 29 II. VIII. and archdeacon of Colchester, was nominated by the King 1 8th July 1537, and obtained the royal assent 7th Aug. foUowing^-^ The temporalities of the see were restored to him on the 24th of the same month^ '.
