Christopheh Bainbridge or Baynbrigg, LL.D., dean of York^ was installed dean of this chapel in 1505. Thomas Hobbes or Hobbys, S.T.P., from a canonry was installed dean in 1507^^. He died and was buried at Windsor in 1509. Nicholas West, LL.D._, was appointed by privy seal 31st Oct. 150920, on the death of Thomas Hobbes ; and in 15 15 he was made bishop of Ely. JoHX Veysey or Voysey, alias Harman^ LL.D., was appointed by patent 28th Sept. 151521^ on the resig- nation of Nicholas West promoted to the see of Ely. The order to the chapter to install him is dated 29th Sept.2'2. and in 15 19 he was made bishop of Exeter. John Clerk, S.T.P., was appointed by patent 9th Nov. 15 19, on the promotion of Veysey to the see of Exe- ter '^•'3; and in 1523 he was made bishop of Bath and Wells. Richard Sampson, LL.D., was installed by his proxy 14th Nov. 1523, and in person 20th May 1526 ; and in 1536 he was made bishop of Chichester. William Frankleyn was appointed by patent 17th Dec. 1536, on the translation of Richard Sampson to the see of Chichester ^^ ; and installed 19th Dec. Owen Oglethorpe, S.T.P., from a canonry was ap- pointed by patent 8th Feb. 1553-4, on the resignation of William Frankleyn ^^ : installed dean in 1553, and in 1556 he was made bishop of Carlisle.
