He died 21st Dec. 1338 at Hartlebury, and was buried in Worcester ca- thedral on the 27th of that month. The license to elect another bishop in the room of the last deceased is dated 28th Dec. 1338^0. 1339 WuLSTAN DE Bransford, pHor of Worcester, was i3Edw.lIl. again chosen by the chapter, and received the royal assent to his election i6th Jan. 1338-931 ; the tempo- ralities were restored to him J 7th Feb. following 3^, and he was confirmed at Canterbury 20th March, and consecrated the next day (Palm-Sunday) by Robert bishop of Chichester23' his enthronement took place 28th March. He died at Hartlebury castle 6th Aug. 1349. The conge d'elire on the death of bishop Wul- stan issued 15th Aug. 134934, and John de Evesham, ^Hor of Worcester, was elected, and the royal assent given to his election 25th Aug. ^c)^^^ and iith Sept. a proclamation was issued appointing a day for his confirmation ^6; but his election was set aside by the Pope, who had appointed 1349 John Thoresby, hishop of St.DavidPs, to this see by 22Edw.iii. papal bull dated 4th Sept.
