40. And hē fōr eft ofer Iordanen tō þǣre stowe þe Iohannes wæs, and ǣrest on fullode; and hē wunode þār.[7]
41. And manega cōmon tō him, and cwǣdon, Witodlīce ne worhte Iohannes nān tācn; ealle þā þing þe Iohannes sǣde be þyson wǣron sōðe.[8]
