On this thread are fixed many paper flowers, which at the least breath of wind begin to revolve causing a peculiar whirring-round. 氷糖葫蘆 ping' t'ang? hu^ lu'-, some fruits as the hai-t ang are strung together by a thin stick and covered with sugar; this is called a "sugar-gourd".

This fat boy ― has many toys ― a clay puppet ― and a small cart ― and a great string of paper flowers ― and sugar-gourds stuffed with fruits.
