Penalty of perfonating and falfly afluming the Name of any Out Pen- fioner in order to receive the Penfion, or procuring any other to do the fame, is Felony without Bene- fit of Clergy. aforefaid ; which Duplicate with the Indorfement thereon (hall immediately be delivered back to the Perfon prefenting the fame : And if, upon Complaint to be made to the refpective Commiffioners appointed by his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors, to manage the laid feve'ral Duties of the Land Tax, Cufloms or Excife, or to the Commiffioners of the Navy, 'if the Perfon complained of be a Clerk.of the Cheque, it fhull appear that fuch Receiver General, .Collector of the Cuftoms, Col- lector of the Excile, or Clerk of the Cheque, hath unneceffarily and wilfully refufed or delayed the Payment of fuch Bill ; or that fuch Receiver General, Collector of the Cufloms, Collector of the Excife, or Clerk of the Cheque, or any Perfon employed by or under any of them, hath directly or indirectly received or taken any Fee, Reward, Gratuity, Difcount or Deduction whatfocver, on account of the Payment of the faid Bill ; it fhall and may be lawful to and for any three or more of the faid Commiffioners to convict and fine any fuch Offender under their refpective Direction, in any Sum not exceeding fifty Pounds, according to the Nature and Degree of the Offence ; which Conviction fhall be made by fuch refpective Commiffioners, and fuch Fine fhall be levied and reco- vered, in fuch and the fame Manner, to all Intents and Purpofes , as anv Conviction may be made, and any Penalty may be levied or recovered, for any Offence againft any Law by which any Cuftom or Excife is impofed or laid ; and the faid Fine, when recovered, fhall be paid to the Informer or In- formers againft fuch Offender or Offenders. V, And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Bills fo paid by the faid Trea furer of the Navy fhall be allowed as fo much Cafh, paid in ready Money, in the Accounts of the faid Treafurer of the Navy with the faid Treafurer of the faid Hofpital at Greenwich ; and the faid Treafurer of the faid Hofpital is hereby required and directed to allow the fame accordingly j any thing to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding. ' VI. And whereas divers wicked Practices may be carried on by Perfons knowingly and willingly ' perfonating and falfely afluming the Name and Character of any Out Penfioner of the faid Hofpi- ' tal, in order to receive the Money due to any fuch Out Penfioner, on account of his Out Penfion ;' Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the Paffing of this Act, who- foever willingly and knowingly (hall perfonate or falfely affume the Name or Character of, or pro- cure any other to perfonate or falfly to affume the Name or Character of any Perfon intitled, or fuppofed to be intitled, as an Out Penfioner, to any Out Penfion or Allowance of Money from the Commiffioners or Governors of the faid Hofpital, in order to receive the Money due, or fup- pofed to be due on fuch Out Penfion ; every fuch Perfon fo offending, and being lawfully con- victed of any fuch Offence or Offences, mall be deemed guilty of Felony, and fuffer Death as a Felon, without Benefit of Clergy. An Act for railing a certain Sum of Money by Loans or Exchequer Bills for the Ser- vice of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-three; and for further ap- propriating the Supplies granted in this Seffion of Parliament •, and for allowing his Majefty's Subjects to import their Goods and Effects, being the Produce of certain Places ceded to France and Spain by the late Treaty of Peace, upon Pay- ment of the fame Duties as they would have been liable to, if fuch Places had remained in his Majefty's Poffeffiom Moft Gracious Sovereign? E your Majefty's molt dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain in Par- liament affembled, for raifing the Refidue of the neceffary Supplies, which we have chear-

with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this pre- fent Parliament affembred, and by the Authority of the fame, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury now or for the Time being, or any three or more of them, or the High Treafurer for the Time being, at any Time or Times before the fifth Day of January one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-four, to caufe or direct any Loans to be taken, or received at his Majefty's Exchequer from any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Body or Bodies Politick or Corporate, or any Number of Exchequer Bills to be made out there, for any Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding, in Loans and Exchequer Bills together, in the Whole, the. Sum of one million and eight hundred thoufand Pounds ; in the fame or like Manner, Form and Order, and according to the fame or like Rules and Directions, as in and by an Act of this pre- fent Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Alt for continuing and granting to his Majejly certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, for the Service of the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and fixty- three, are enacted and prefcribed concerning, the Loans or Exchequer Bills to be taken or made in purfuaace of the faid Act, IL And
