"Ah, no," he responded. "No, I could never have thought of that because that would have been against my duty to my people."
In this response lies the philosophy of the Reformer. It was his loyalty and sense of duty to his "people" (who are now become the people of all China, by reason of his great leadership) that has made him the greatest of all living Chinese.
