“An act making appropriations for the current expenses of the Indian Department for Indian annuities and other similar objects for the year eighteen hundred and thirty-six,” for the removal of the Winnebago Indians, may be expended upon such of the said Indians as actually remove, and upon no others. And the said Indians shall be removed either to the neutral ground or to such country as may be assigned to them by treaty on the southwest side of the river Missouri.

Chap. CCLXVIII.—An Act making appropriations for certain fortifications of the United States for the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, and the same are hereby appropriated, to be paid out of any unappropriated money in the Treasury, for certain fortifications, viz:
Castle Island, &c.For the preservation of Castle Island and repairs of Fort Independence, Boston harbor, one hundred thousand dollars.
Fort Warren.For Fort Warren, Boston harbor, two hundred thousand dollars.
Fort Adams.For Fort Adams, Rhode Island, two hundred thousand dollars.
Fort Schuyler.For Fort Schuyler, East river, New York, two hundred thousand dollars.
Fort Columbus, &c.For repairs of Fort Columbus and Castle Williams, and officers’ quarters, on Governor’s Island, New York harbor, twenty thousand dollars.
Fort Delaware.For Fort Delaware, Delaware river, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Fort Calhoun.For Fort Calhoun, Virginia, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Fort Caswell.For Fort Caswell, Oak Island, North Carolina, sixty thousand dollars.
Forts, Charleston harbor.For fortifications, Charleston harbor, South Carolina, and preservation of the site of Fort Moultrie, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Fort Pulaski.For Fort Pulaski, Cockspur Island, Georgia, one hundred and seventy thousand dollars.
Fort Pickens.For Fort Pickens, Pensacola, Florida, fifty thousand dollars.
Fort at Foster’s Bank.For the fort at Foster’s Bank, Florida, one hundred and sixty thousand dollars.
Incidental expenses.For incidental expenses attending repairs of fortifications, and for the purchase of additional land in their neighborhood, one hundred thousand dollars.
Contingencies.For contingencies of fortifications, ten thousand dollars.
Re-appropriated for Throg’s Point.
1826, ch. 73.For the purchase of land and the right of way on Throg’s Point, in Long Island Sound, being the balance of the appropriation of one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six, carried to the surplus fund the first of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine, two thousand dollars.
To close accounts in Third Auditor’s office.And the following sums, necessary to close accounts in the Office of the Third Auditor, viz.
Fort on Cockspur Island.For a fort on Cockspur Island, Georgia, two thousand three hundred and eight dollars and fifty-six cents.
