Rai, Captain Devan Ganpat, I.M.S., District Medical and Sanitary Officer, Nellore; b. 1875; joined service as Medical Officer 8rd Infantry, 4th Lancers and the 4th Battery H.C., 1902; Medical charge of the sick at Bolaram, 1903; Medical Officer, 9th Infantry, 1903; recruiting duty in the Punjab, 1904; doing duty in the Madras Genenral Hospital, 1904; Resident Medical Officer, General Hospital, Madras, 1905; became Captain, 29th January 1905; 3rd Physician, General Hospital, 1905; attended course of instruction in X-Ray at Dehra Dun, 1906; 4th Physician, Madras General Hospital, and Professor of Meteria Medica, Madras Medical College, 1907; Resident Medical Officer, Madras General Hospital. 1908; District Medical and Sanitary Officer, Godavari, 1908; transferred in the same capacity to Vellore together with charge of Central Jail, 1910; transferred to Nellore as District Medical and Sanitary Officer, 1912; Address: Nellore, Madras Presidency, India.
