Translation:Qolasta/Prayer 28
- XXVIII.
- Bound and sealed be these souls who have descended to the Jordan and received baptism
- by Hauran-Hauraran-Zīwā, the effluent from the great life as - its epithet,
- by Jōfin-Jōfafin and Sām, the well-preserved Mānā,
- by Jōsmīr, the primordial container of splendor,
- by Jōkabar, the equipped Uthra.
- Bind, seal and guard these souls who have descended to the Jordan and received baptism
- from all the idolatry of the House,
- that they have no power over them by virtue of their demons and their dēws,
- that they do not approach them, sin against them, or corrupt them.
- From them shall be taken away all pains, plagues, chastisements and travail.
- From them shall fall away and depart all ugly diseases and evil maledictions of the body.
- Those who sit before you as guilty, may rise as guiltless.
- And healing be granted to those souls who have gone down to the Jordan and received baptism.
- And life be victorious.
Commentary
[edit]- These 4 sealing prayers, "When you saw," "Bound and sealed," "By the treasure of life," and the great "bound and sealed," read in full voice over the souls whom you baptize, after you have given them Pihiā and Mambūhā.
- About (several) souls you baptize, read as it is written, if it is one soul, say "this soul of the NN".
- Then let them stand up, and read "you are raised up".
