The Laws of Yards With Houses in Between Them |
דיני חצרות ובתים ביניהם |

Paragraph 1 - If there are two yards with three houses in between them, each open to each other, and they want to make an eruv together, one yard goes through the house adjacent to it, and other yard does the same. All three houses will be permitted to the yards, as every adjacent house is considered a gatehouse and need not give bread, and the middle one is the house in which the eruv is placed and does not need to give bread. |
סעיף א - שתי חצרות ושלשה בתים ביניהם פתוחים זה לזה ורוצים לערב יחד, חצר זה בא דרך בית שאצלו ונותן ערובו בבית שבאמצע וכן עושה השניה, ומתרים בשלשתן, שכל בית שאצל החצר חשוב לו כבית שער ואין צריך לתן פת, והאמצעי הוא בית שמניחין בו ערוב ואין צריך לתן פת. |

Paragraph 2 - If there are two yards with two houses in between them, they did not make an eruv together but rather each made an eruv for itself, a member of one yard goes through the house adjacent to his yard and puts the eruv in the house adjacent to the other yard, and the other yard does the same thing and puts the eruv in the house adjacent to the other yard, it is not an effective eruv, as everyone put an eruv in the gatehouse of the other yard. |
סעיף ב - שתי חצרות ושני בתים ביניהם ולא ערבו יחד אלא כל אחת לעצמה, ובא בן חצר זה דרך בית שאצלו והניח ערובו בבית שצל השני, וכן עשה השני שגם הוא הניח ערובו בבית הסמוך לחצר האחרת, לא קנו ערוב, שכל אחד הניח ערובו בבית שער של חצר אחרת. |
