Chap. XLI.An Act altering the time of holding the circuit court in the district of Maine[1] and New Hampshire.[2]

Days of holding the terms of the circuit court of Maine and New Hampshire changed.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the terms of the circuit court, which are now directed by law to be holden annually in the district of Maine, at Portland, on the eighth day of May; and at Wiscasset, on the eighth day of October: and in the district of New Hampshire, at mouth, on the first day of May; and at Exeter, on the first day of October, shall hereafter be holden at Portland, on the first day of May; at Wicasset, on the first day of October; at Portsmouth, on the eighth day of May; and at Exeter, on the eighth day of October, in said districts, in each year; and when either of said days shall be Sunday, the session of said court shall commence on the day next following: and all causes, suits, actions, process, pleadings, and proceedings, of every description, existing or depending in the circuit court, in the districts aforesaid, shall be returnable to, and proceeded with, in due form of law, at the times conformable to the alterations herein provided for.
