Important books
[edit]Incorrect use of category
[edit]Hi, I've only just looked at a couple of pages in Castes and Tribes of Southern India. I see that you are using a category for the work. This goes against our policy on categories. See Help:Categorization for details on how we do categorise works. Take particular note of the last section on categories that are not accepted here. As a result, I'm asking you to stop adding the category from now on. I'll then request a Bot to go through and remove all the subpages from the category prior to deleting it.
I see that, at present, there is no mainpage for this work. This is where the categories for the work belong—along with the Table of Contents. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 04:38, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
@Beeswaxcandle::Thank you for your advice,I am new to the English Wikisource and not femilier with the policies. Here onwards I will not add Categorise the subpages. This 7 volumes-book does not have index or table of contents. The introduction to the series in the first volume is very lengthy. Can you please help me in creating the main page, index and table of contents. Thank you, Sir.--A.Murali (talk) 05:49, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Done I haven't created the page for the Tables after the Introduction because there's nothing yet to transclude. I've created the seven volume lists based on the Category. As you add further articles—presumably mostly from Volumes 6 & 7—you'll need to add them in in the right place on those pages. Have fun!! Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:27, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- P.S. If the sequence of articles is wrong feel free to move them around. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:30, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
@Beeswaxcandle:::: Can we make alphabetical TOC index of this seven volume work searchable for any caste or tribe in each volume. Thanking you.--Rajasekhar1961 (talk) 12:15, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
