Pages without text
[edit]When a page is without text, sometimes there will be garbage characters in the text window from OCR, or there will be an automatically generated footer in the footer window. Best practice is to check and clear these sections of any text. [1] --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:35, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
We have a "house" style...
[edit]Wikisource has a house style so to speak, take a look at the udpates I made on a work you were recently proofreading Index:The religious life of King Henry VI.djvu. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:03, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

Check EVERYTHING before validating.
[edit]Noticed some formatting glitches on this : Page:Japanese Wood Engravings.djvu/9
Are you checking carefully? Don't mark pages as validated until you can find absolutely no errors at all, this includes mismatched '' '' pairs and so on.ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 18:58, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, I can see why you might not spot those :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 23:01, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Your user page
[edit]Hi Chiraq Bears,
I took the liberty of tweaking your user page. The issue is that the {{header}} template, the <pages …>
tag, and category markup are "special", in that they generate effects beyond just the page they're on. Both the header and the pages tag will sometimes add automatic tracking or maintenance categories, and thus will place your user page into global categories intended for content pages, and category markup will either directly place it into a category or will cause it get listed as a broken category reference in the logs. It's therefore best to avoid using these in user space unless you're temporarily testing transclusion in a sandbox or similar. On your user page it looked like you just wanted a convenient "cut&paste" template to use, so I took the liberty of wrapping it in <nowiki>
tags for you. Xover (talk) 14:30, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. We don't link biographical articles as you did above. The process is to create an WD item for the biographical article and then link through that to the person. If you pop back to the article, you will see what and I have done, and it is all controlled at WD to do the mechanics. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:32, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
