Adding a picture to Wikisource

[edit]

{{helpme}} Hello! I am transcribing a translation of the Max Havelaar (transcription project), and the pictures of the maps are of very low resolution. My local university library has this book, and I took better pictures of the maps there. Now my questions:

  1. How do I upload this to Wikisource? Are there any considerations I need to know about?
  2. How do I properly relinquish copyright of my taking of the picture? Does this happen automatically if I upload it?
  3. Does the university also have a claim to any copyright, that I need to deal with?

Thank you very much in advance. Raketsla (talk) 15:13, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello. That’s great if you obtained better pictures. They can be uploaded to Commons (see the button "upload file") in the menu on the left of the Commons main page and then added to the Wikisource page as if they were uploaded directly here.
