Thanks for looking at this and fixing it up! I meant to fix the pd tag, and finish up the index page and forgot about it. Kutenai Tales

Hello Slgrandson,

It was a very pleasant and very unexpected surprise to find you working on Kutenai text and page layouts. I could hardly believe it was happening. And I am quite confused as to how you could be doing it at all. It looks a little beyond of what I think are ordinary human abilities.

Now, I am confused about the manner of presentation of those tales. I want to create a mainspace page for each individual tale. I believe readers should be able, depending on their preference, to access the English-only version of every tale just as well as the bilingual version. However, I have problems thinking how to realize that. Have you got any ideas? Tar-ba-gan (talk) 19:02, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Fairy tales...

Hey, I saw your ping on The Violet Fairy Book. Glad to see someone taking an interest in these books: they'd be a good thing to have complete in our collection.

But a note of caution: our existing texts of the tales in these books are usually from a different edition, or, in the case of those copied from Gutenberg, from an indeterminate amalgamation of multiple editions. If you copy that text into the Page: pages for the specific edition we have a scan for you will have to apply an unusually fine-toothed comb when proofreading. In my experience it is actually much better (and less work) to proofread directly from OCR text than try to reuse Gutenberg texts, in particular. This will vary based on the text in question and your own preference when proofreading, of course, but it's worth keeping in mind the need for extra vigilance in these cases. --Xover (talk) 13:46, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Please do not overwrite works

Hi. Please do not overwrite old editions of works at enWS, please transclude them under a new work title/rootpage. If we need to move and update, then we will. These days there is too much stuff in the background with works, disambiguations, WD data, etc. and when one partially overwrites it gets horribly screwed. This is even more complex when we have old old old versions around that were not set up with the same rigour and methodology we currently use. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 07:20, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
