"To begin with, who made possible the wonderful advance of radio? Not the person who sits back and listens to some 'opera star' or a 'band', but the real radio amateur, who has experimented for years until he has perfected his apparatus."

His death. "John H. Lindauer, 49, formerly of Bloomfield, died Saturday in the Desert Mission Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona. He was a radio and television engineer and was employed at the Harrison plant of Radio Corporation of America until transferred by the firm in 1948 to Indianapolis. Mr. Lindauer is survived by his wife, the former Louise Platts, of Rutherford; two sons, John and Thayer; a daughter, Ruth Elizabeth [sic], all of Indianapolis; his mother, Mrs. O. A. His children contract polio. "Polio almost prevented these three youngsters from entering their pet pup, Snuffy, in the Rotary Club mutt show Saturday. Teddy, John and Ruth Lindauer, children of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lindauer of 4620 North 10th street, all were stricken with the disease in September. Complete recovery of all of them makes it possible for them to enter Snuffy in competition for the best wagon puller."
His children contract polio. "The polio toll in Maricopa county rose to today as three more infantile paralysis victims were admitted St. Monica's hospital. Hospital officials said none of new arrivals was in serious condition. The 19 victims include 13 children and six adults. Three of children are from, the same family. They are John, Thayer and Ruth Lindauer, children of Mr. and John Lindauer of Phoenix."
His wedding. "Miss Louise H. Platts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Platts of Rutherford, became the bride of John Howard Lindauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar A. Lindauer, of Jewett Avenue, last Saturday."
