Title
[edit]Why is this at Faust (von Goethe)? The author is always called "Goethe", which was his surname. The "von" is merely a particle of nobility. I propose moving to Faust (Goethe). John Kenney (talk) 14:45, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- I would support that. --Midnightdreary (talk) 19:41, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Full scan
[edit]Hello all,
I've found a good scan of the full Bayard Taylor translation, which is currently not a part of the Wikisource project. (external scan). I've included it here for long-term improvement of this work. Mathmitch7 (talk) 16:15, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- It's here: https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/14591/pg14591.txt
- .. I have to read up on the process, 'cause it looks like I'm not supposed to just start pasting text into this page from that source?

- Wikisource does not accept Gutenberg transcriptions anymore, for details see: WS:What Wikisource includes#Second-hand transcriptions. We need to upload the full scans first and then transcribe them using the proofread extension, see Help:Proofreading. If you wish to add the work and need help, e. g. with uploading the scans or creating the index page, just write me and I can help. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 23:29, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- See also Help:Adding texts. The really complicated bit to get started is finding and uploading a scan to Commons, and setting up an Index: for it (in this case, Mattmich7 has already found a scan up above). Then there's a bit of a learning curve for how to Proofread and use the various templates etc. As Jan says, if you plan to work on this text the community can help with the initial setup, and you can ask for help at Wikisource:Scriptorium/Help while you're learning the ropes of Proofreading.
