Prayer 33

Opening prayer for the Masiqta liturgy

XXXIII.
In the name of life.
Living water you are, you have come from a noble place.
You have come from a noble place,
you have poured out from the house of life.
As the living water comes out of the house of life,
the good will come and receive good.
But the wicked will be broken,
and the children of the world will be put to shame.
They say, "There is a place for us in the place of life
where those who seek will find,
those who speak will be heard.
So we sought, and found, and spoke,
and were heard in the sight of you [Mandā d-Haijē], the Lord of healings.
As the water pours down to the Tibil,
let the wicked sink down before the good.
Just as the water falls to the earth,
may the friends of the name of Kuštā
be remitted their sins, transgressions,
follies, stumbles, and errors,
as well as the souls of this ascent,
also our parents, teachers, brothers, and sisters
who have passed out of their bodies
and who still dwell in their bodies."
Say: Life stands firm in its Škīnā,
life is victorious.
