Statistics
[edit]Welcome. If you are interested in your activity, I'd suggest you to rely on this, rather than updating your page every day: https://tools.wmflabs.org/supercount/index.php?user=Cyarenkatnikh&project=en.wikisource. Bye— Mpaa (talk) 21:08, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. I am aware of the tools page, but since I am unable to display the statistics on my user page, I am manually updating the same. Is there anyway to display the statistics on my home page, through bots or code? Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 03:58, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
The Tamils Eighteen Hundred Years Ago
[edit]Hi! It seems that you are proofreading the work, but not marking the pages as proofread. Please mark the pages as proofread; it would not be quite ethical for others to do so. Thanks, Hrishikes (talk) 05:38, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- I thought one person creates the page and second one proof-reads it. The third person marks it as validated. Is it not so? Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 05:51, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- No, the page creator normally proofreads it too, and marks accordingly. The next person validates. Hrishikes (talk) 05:57, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, I am unaware of this, will mark it as proofread moving forward. Thanks!! Also do let me know if any help is needed in books related to India, am interested in contributing. Feel free to contact me for other books as well Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 06:00, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- You will get a rich harvest at Portal:India. Although many books here are not listed there. My early uploads are listed at User:Hrishikes/Userbox, later uploads not listed. I can probably give better feedback if you let me know the choice of genre, author etc. Hrishikes (talk) 06:10, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

- On rethinking, I am proposing Index:Chandrashekhar (1905).djvu. The work has another translation, which I have proofread. Hrishikes (talk) 13:35, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
- Sure, will work on it, as soon as I complete the existing project Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 14:05, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Hrishikes , I have completed the proofreading of this book, but I am unable to convert the pages into a book. I keep getting Index issue, look here, can you help me sort this out. --}- Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 11:36, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Done, I'll do some improvement later. Hrishikes (talk) 11:59, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. Is there any category/portal, for stories happening in India during the British era? This book depicts the lifestyle of India during that time. It would be nice to tag such books under one category, so that it might be useful for some research purpose. Also do let me know if you need help in any other project. --}- Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 12:10, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

The portal this work belongs to is Portal:Bengali language and literature. I am not aware of any British Raj portal, maybe you can create one. As for other works, I have added here India-related books, magazines, laws etc. in almost every genre. If you can point to a topic you are interested in (like history, science, fiction, law, journals, poetry, or anything else), it would be easier for me to suggest something, because I have plenty.:) Hrishikes (talk) 12:32, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Adding 'nop'
[edit]The {{nop}} template ensures that the next text will be on a new line, and not continue the text across pages as a single paragraph. It ensures correct formatting across page breaks or within tables in some situations. You would see any difference in the Page namespace, but it makes a big difference in the final copy. --EncycloPetey (talk) 13:21, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
Proofreading
[edit]When pages on an Index page are marked in blue, they have not been proofread, and require expert attention because of a problem. A work is not fully proofread until all of these problems have been corrected, and all pages marked as proofread. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:32, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Ok Got it. Cyarenkatnikh (talk)
On an unrelated note, I see that you have done significant contributions in wikitonary. I am not able to understand how to edit those pages, can you help me with a sample page? If feasible a guide to how to edit in wikitonary. Thanks Cyarenkatnikh (talk)
- Those pages will involve editing the images on the pages, which is outside basic page editing for Wikisource. You'll need to know about image editing software. Also, images are usually uploaded to Commons rather than here, so the best place to look for assistance will be at Commons. I would provide a link to a help page there, but could not find one relevant to this particular issue. You might ask for directions to such a page at their Help Desk. Our local guide is Help:Adding images, but it's a very basic guide and assumes quite a bit of knowledge. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:25, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
I have proofread and validated all I can. There are only a few pages left - a couple minutes of your time there would be much appreciated! Phillipedison1891 (talk) 03:19, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
- I have validated, there are still couple of pages left, can you complete the same? --Cyarenkatnikh (talk) 07:25, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
