SCHolar 44 x 48

[edit]

Hello. It is really confusing how you use two different accounts interchangeably. For example this edit was signed as if made by SCHolar48 and when somebody clicks the signature, they appear on the user page of SCHolar48, but in fact it was made from the account SCHolar44. Please, choose just one account which you are going to use. -- Jan Kameníček (talk) 14:05, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Jan. I had intended to use SCHolar44, but when I tried to use it in Wikisource it (and 45, 46 and 47) were denied. After receiving your advice I was able to establish SCHolar44. However, I thought it would be less confusing to continue with 48 until the current conversation had ended. I'll move to 44 (permanently) now. With renewed thanks, and apologies -- SCHolar44 (talk) 00:17, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Application for extension of alien bond

[edit]

I have noticed you asked for some more help with this document. At this moment the document is partly proofread in the index namespace. After the proofreading process is finished, it needs to be transcluded to the main namespace, see Help:Transclusion. If the help page does not suffice, just ask and I can provide more assistance.

However, before transcluding it, the document needs some more work to be done. We do not replace signatures with the label "signature", but we place there the image of the signature instead. Also the image of the stamp should not be ommited from the document. You can upload the images to Commons and then add them to the document.

Can you also provide the source of the document, please? Did you download it from some website? If so, it would be good to provide the link to the file in Commons.--Jan Kameníček (talk) 14:26, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your comments, Jan. As a result of my asking for help (this having been my first venture into Wikisource), TE(æ)A,ea. made many improvements, one of which involved undoing your revision 13131675 with the comment "stamp is post hoc, signatures replaced". I think I should stand back since I'm totally inexperienced with Wikisource practices (I'm only experienced with Wikipedia and Commons).
I have made the source details more explicit on the Commons page (I mentioned it was sent from the MacArthur Memorial and is not on their website). I do appreciate your help. SCHolar44 (talk) 03:41, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I noticed the revert and then explained my view to the colleague. However, I consider this problem quite marginal and not worth of edit-warring. If I have time later, I may extract the images of the signatures and add them to the work. The only really important thing is that thanks to you we have the document transcribed now! Thanks very much and enjoy editing, I am looking forward to more contributions of yours :-) --Jan Kameníček (talk) 11:07, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
