(1835–1914)

Catherine Creedon (1835-1914) was born in Ireland and migrated to Cardiff, Wales with her husband, Daniel Finn (1818-1887), around 1855 and in the 1871 Wales census she was working as a laundress. She migrated to the United States in 1873 or 1874. She could not read or write. (b. May 1835; Millstreet, County Cork, Ireland - d. Death of her granddaughter. "Mrs. Mary Burke Norton, 59, of 603 Garfield Avenue, died yesterday at the Medical Center of a ruptured appendix. She was admitted to the hospital August 31. Mrs. Norton, a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Norton, Sr., and three sons, Thomas; Vincent and James Norton."
Death of her daughter. "On Saturday, July 20, at her late residence, 236 Jewett Avenue, Jersey City. Kate Finn, beloved daughter of the late Catherine Creedon and Daniel Finn, aunt of May M. Burke. …"
Death of her husband. "On Friday, October 14th, 1887, Daniel Finn, aged 69 years. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, 276 First street, on Sunday at 3 o'clock p.m."
