(1825–1887)

Daniel Finn (1818-1887) migrated from Millstreet, County Cork, Ireland to Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales around 1858-1859. He worked as a mason's laborer in 1863 and a coal tipper in 1871 in Cardiff, Wales. He migrated from Wales to Jersey City, New Jersey, United States in 1873. He died in 1887 of pulmonary tuberculosis at age 69. He could not read or write. (b. 1825; Millstreet, County Cork, Ireland - d. Death of his granddaughter. "Mrs. Mary Burke Norton, 59, of 603 Garfield Avenue, died yesterday at the Medical Center of a ruptured appendix. She was admitted to the hospital August 31. Mrs. Norton, a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Norton, Sr., and three sons, Thomas; Vincent and James Norton."
Death of his daughter. "On Saturday, July 20, at her late residence, 236 Jewett Avenue, Jersey City. Kate Finn, beloved daughter of the late Catherine Creedon and Daniel Finn, aunt of May M. Burke. …"
His death. "On Friday, October 14th, 1887, Daniel Finn, aged 69 years. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, 276 First street, on Sunday at 3 o'clock p.m."
