Nora M. Finn (1865-1898) was born in Wales in 1865 where her father had migrated to work as a coal tipper. She emigrated to the United States from Wales with her parents around 1873. She died of pneumonia in Jersey City in 1898 at age 32. In some documents she is "Honora Finn". Her married name was Nora Burke. (b. Death of her granddaughter. "Mrs. Mary Burke Norton, 59, of 603 Garfield Avenue, died yesterday at the Medical Center of a ruptured appendix. She was admitted to the hospital August 31. Mrs. Norton, a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Norton, Sr., and three sons, Thomas; Vincent and James Norton."
Death of her husband. "John J. Burke, Sr., 73, of 740 Grand Street, died yesterday at the Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a former employee of Peter Henderson, florist. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josephine Burke; three sons, William, John and Owen Burke, and four daughters, Mrs. Mary Norton and the Misses Bertha, Josephine, and Margaret Burke and a sister, Mrs. Mary Patterson."
Death of her sister. "On Saturday, July 20, at her late residence, 236 Jewett Avenue, Jersey City. Kate Finn, beloved daughter of the late Catherine Creedon and Daniel Finn, aunt of May M. Burke. …"
Death of her father. "On Friday, October 14th, 1887, Daniel Finn, aged 69 years. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence, 276 First street, on Sunday at 3 o'clock p.m."
