Chapter 1

1In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Aggaeus, saying, Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, saying,	Εν τω δευτέρω έτει επί Δαρείου του βασιλέως εν τω μηνί τω έκτω μιά του μηνός εγένετο λόγος κυρίου εν χειρί Αγγαίου του προφήτου λέγων είπον προς Ζοροβάβελ τον του Σαλαθιήλ εκ φυλής Ιούδα και προς Ιησούν τον του Ιωσεδέκ τον ιερέα τον μέγαν λέγων
2Thus saith the Lord Almighty, saying, This people say, The time is not come to build the house of the Lord.	τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ λέγων ο λαός ούτος λέγουσιν ουκ ήκει ο καιρός του οικοδομήσαι τον όικον κυρίου
3And the word of the Lord came by the hand of the prophet Aggaeus, saying,	και εγένετο λόγος κυρίου εν χειρί Αγγαίου του προφήτου λέγων
4Is it time for you to dwell in your ceiled houses, whereas our house is desolate?	ει μεν καιρός υμίν έστι του οικείν εν όικοις υμών κοιλοστάθμοις ο δε όικος όυτος εξηρήμωται
5And now thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways, I pray you.	και νυν τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ τάξατε καρδίας υμών εις τας οδούς υμών
6Ye have sown much, but brought in little; ye have eaten, and are not satisfied; ye have drunk, and are not satisfied with drink, ye have clothed yourselves, and have not become warm thereby: and he that earns wages has gathered them into a bag full of holes.	εσπείρατε πολλά και εισηνέγκατε ολίγα εφάγετε και ουκ εις πλησμονήν επίετε και ουκ εις μέθην περιεβάλεσθε και ουκ εθερμάνθητε εν αυτοίς και ο τους μισθούς συνάγων συνήγαγεν εις δεσμόν τετρυπημένον
7Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Consider your ways.	τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ θέσθε τας καρδίας υμών εις τας οδούς υμών
8Go up to the mountain, and cut timber; build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.	ανάβητε εις το όρος και κόψατε ξύλα και οικοδομήσετε τον όικον και ευδοκήσω εν αυτώ και ενδοξασθήσομαι είπεν κύριος
9Ye looked for much, and there came little; and it was brought into the house, and I blew it away. Therefore thus saith the Lord Almighty, Because my house is desolate, and ye run everyone into his own house;	επεβλέψατε εις πολλά και εγένετο ολίγα και εισηνέχθη εις τον όικον και εξεφύσησα αυτα διά τούτο τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ανθ΄ ων ο οικός μου έστιν ερημός υμείς δε διώκετε έκαστος εις τον όικον αυτού
10therefore shall the sky withhold dew, and the earth shall keep back her produce.	διά τούτο ανέξει ο ουρανός από δρόσου και η γη υποστελείται τα εκφόρια αυτής
11And I will bring a sword upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and all that the earth produces, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon all the labours of their hands.	και επάξω ρομφαίαν επί την γην και επί τα όρη και επί τον σίτον και επί τον οίνον και επί το έλαιον και όσα εκφέρει η γη και επί τους ανθρώπους και επί τα κτήνη και επί πάντας τους πόνους των χειρών αυτών
12And Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of the prophet Aggaeus, according as the Lord their God had sent him to them, and the people feared before the Lord.	και ήκουσε Ζοροβάβελ ο του Σαλαθιήλ εκ φυλής Ιούδα και Ιησούς ο του Ιωσεδέκ ο ιερεύς ο μέγας και πάντες οι κατάλοιποι του λαού της φωνής κυρίου του θεού αυτών και των λόγων του Αγγαίου του προφήτου καθότι εξαπέστειλεν αυτόν κύριος ο θεός αυτών προς αυτούς και εφοβήθη ο λαός από προσώπου κυρίου
13And Aggaeus the Lord's messenger spoke among the messengers of the Lord to the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.	και είπεν Αγγαίος ο άγγελος κυρίου εν αγγέλοις κυρίου είπον τω λαώ εγώ είμι μεθ΄ υμών λέγει κύριος
14And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and the spirit of Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and the spirit of the remnant of all the people; and they went in, and wrought in the house of the Lord Almighty their God,	και εξήγειρε κύριος το πνεύμα Ζοροβάβελ του Σαλαθιήλ εκ φυλής Ιούδα και το πνεύμα Ιησού του Ιωσεδέκ του ιερέως του μεγάλου και το πνεύμα των καταλοίπων του λαού και εισήλθον και εποίουν τα έργα εν τω οίκω κυρίου παντοκράτορος θεού αυτών
15on the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.	τη τετράδι και εικάδι του μηνός του έκτου τω δεύτερω έτει επί Δαρείου του βασιλέως

Chapter 2

1In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the Lord spoke by Aggaeus the prophet, saying,	τω εβδόμω μηνί μία και εικάδι του μηνός εγένετο λόγος κυρίου εν χειρί Αγγαίου του προφήτου λέγων
2Speak now to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, saying,	είπον δη προς Ζοροβάβελ τον του Σαλαθιήλ εκ φυλής Ιούδα και προς Ιησούν του Ιωσεδέκ τον ιερέα τον μέγαν και προς πάντας τους καταλοίπους του λαού λέγων
3Who is there of you that saw this house in her former glory? and how do ye now look upon it, as it were nothing before your eyes?	τις εξ υμών ος είδε τον οίκον τούτον εν τη δόξη αυτού τη έμπροσθεν και πως υμείς βλέπετε αυτόν νυν καθώς ουχ υπάρχοντα ενώπιον υμών
4Yet now be strong, O Zorobabel, saith the Lord; and strengthen thyself, O Jesus the high priest, the son of Josedec; and let all the people of the land strengthen themselves, saith the Lord, and work, for I am with you, saith the Lord Almighty;	και νυν κατίσχυε Ζοροβάβελ λέγει κύριος και κατίσχυε Ιησού ο του Ιωσεδέκ ο ιερεύς ο μέγας και κατισχυέτω πας ο λαός της γης λέγει κύριος και ποιειτε διότι εγώ μεθ΄ υμών είμι λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
5and my Spirit remains in the midst of you; be of good courage.	τον λόγον ον διεθέμην υμίν εν τω εξελθείν υμάς από Αιγύπτου και το πνεύμά μου εφέστηκεν εν μέσω υμών θαρσείτε
6For thus saith the Lord Almighty; Yet once I will shake the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;	διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ έτι άπαξ εγώ σείσω τον ουρανόν και την γην και την θάλασσαν και την ξηράν
7and I will shake all nations, and the choice portions of all the nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord Almighty.	και συσσείσω πάντα τα έθνη και ήξει τα εκλεκτά πάντων των εθνών και πλήσω τον οίκον τούτον δόξης λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
8Mine is the silver, and mine the gold, saith the Lord Almighty.	εμόν το αργύριον και εμόν το χρυσίον λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
9For the glory of this house shall be great, the latter more than the former, saith the Lord Almighty: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord Almighty, even peace of soul for a possession to every one that builds, to raise up this temple.	διότι μεγάλη έσται η δόξα του οίκου τούτου η εσχάτη υπέρ την πρώτην λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ και εν τω τόπω τούτω δώσω ειρήνην λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ και ειρήνην ψυχής εις περιποίησιν παντί τω κτίζοντι του αναστήσαι τον ναόν τούτον
10On the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Aggaeus the prophet, saying,	τη τετράδι και εικάδι τω εννάτω μηνί έτει δευτέρω επί Δαρείου εγένετο λόγος κυρίου προς Αγγαίαν τον προφήτην λέγων
11Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Inquire now of the priest concerning the law, saying,	τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ επερώτησον δη τους ιερείς νόμον λέγων
12If a man should take holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and the skirt of his garment should touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.	εάν λάβη άνθρωπος κρέας άγιον εν τω άκρω του ιματίου αυτού και άψηται το άκρον του ιματίου αυτού άρτου η εψήματος η όινου η ελαίου η παντός βρώματος ει αγιασθήσεται και απεκρίθησαν οι ιερείς και είπαν ου
13And Aggaeus said, If a defiled person who is unclean by reason of a dead body, touch any of these, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered and said, It shall be defiled.	και είπεν Αγγαίας εάν άψηται μεμιασμένος επί ψυχή από πάντων τούτων ει μιανθήσεται και απεκρίθησαν οι ιερείς και είπαν μιανθήσεται
14And Aggaeus answered and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord; and so are all the works of their hands: and whosoever shall approach them, shall be defiled because of their early burdens: they shall be pained because of their toils; and ye have hated him that reproved in the gates.	και απεκρίθη Αγγαίας και είπεν ούτως ο λαός ούτος και ούτως το έθνος τούτο ενώπιον εμού λέγει κύριος και ούτως πάντα τα έργα των χειρών αυτών και ος αν εγγίση εκεί μιανθήσεται ένεκεν των λημμάτων αυτών των ορθρινών οδυνηθήσονται από προσώπου πονηριών αυτών και εμισείτε τους εν θύραις ελέγχοντα
15And now consider, I pray you, from this day and beforetime, before they laid a stone on a stone in the temple of the Lord, what manner of men ye were.	και νυν θέσθε δη επί τας καρδίας υμών από της ημεράς ταύτης και υπεράνω προ του θείναι λίθον επί λίθον εν τω ναώ κυρίου
16When ye cast into the corn-bin twenty measures of barley, and there were only ten measures of barley: and ye went to the vat to draw out fifty measures, and there were but twenty.	τίνες ήτε ότε ενεβάλλετε εις κυψέλην κριθής είκοσι σάτα και εγένετο δέκα σάτα κριθής και εισεπορεύεσθε εις το υπολήνιον εξαντλήσαι πεντήκοντα μετρητάς και εγένοντο είκοσι
17I smote you with barrenness, and with blasting, and all the works of your hands with hail; yet ye returned not to me, saith the Lord.	επάταξα υμάς εν αφορία και εν ανεμοφθορία και εν χαλάζη πάντα τα έργα των χειρών υμών και ουκ επεστρέψατε προς με λέγει κύριος
18Set your hearts now to think from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day when the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid;	τάξατε δη τας καρδίας υμών από της ημέρας ταύτης και επέκεινα από της τετράδος και εικάδος του εννάτου μηνός και από της ημέρας ης εθεμελίωθη ο ναός κυρίου θέσθε εν ταις καρδίαις υμών
19consider in your hearts, whether this shall be known on the corn-floor, and whether yet the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-trees that bear no fruit are with you: from this day will I bless you.	ει έτι επιγνωσθήσεται επί της άλω και ει έτι η άμπελος και η συκή και η ροά και τα ξύλα της ελαίας τα ου φέροντα καρπόν από της ημέρας ταύτης ευλογήσω
20And the word of the Lord came the second time to Aggaeus the prophet, on the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,	και εγένετο λόγος κυρίου εκ δευτέρου προς Αγγαίαν τον προφήτην τετράδι και εικάδι του μηνός λέγων
21Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Juda, saying, I shake the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;	είπον προς Ζοροβάβελ τον του Σαλαθιήλ εκ φυλής Ιούδα λέγων εγώ σείω τον ουρανόν και την γην και την θάλασσαν και την ξηράν
22and I will overthrow the thrones of kings, and I will destroy the power of the kings of the nations; and I will overthrow chariots and riders; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword striving against his brother.	και καταστρέψω θρόνους βασιλέων και ολοθρεύσω δύναμιν βασιλέων των εθνών και καταστρέψω άρματα και αναβάτας και καταβήσονται ίπποι και αναβάται αυτών έκαστος εν ρομφαία προς τον αδελφόν αυτού
23In that day, saith the Lord Almighty, I will take thee, O Zorobabel, the son of Salathiel, my servant, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a seal: for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord Almighty.	εν τη ημέρα εκείνη λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ λήψομαί σε Ζοροβάβελ τον του Σαλαθιήλ τον δούλον μου λέγει κύριος και θήσομαί σε ως σφραγίδα διότι σε ηρέτικα λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
