Literal English Translation Original Latin Line

Lesbia always speaks badly of me, and she is not silent
at any time about me: let me perish if Lesbia does not love me.
By what sign? Because my signs are just as many: I pray against
her continuously, but let me perish if I do not love her.

Lesbia mī dīcit semper male nec tacet umquam
dē mē: Lesbia mē dispeream nisi amat.
Quō signō? Quia sunt totidem mea: dēprecor illam
assiduē, vērum dispeream nisi amō.
