Angr (2018 changed to Mahagaja)

2008-09 admin

Angr (talkcontribs) - SUL - SQL

Angr is a sysop on English Wikipedia since September 2005, on Welsh Wikisource since October 2006, and also on Commons (I cant figure how when).

He began contributing here in February 2005, editing the Main Page as his first remaining live edit; he does have edits earlier that day, but those edits are in the deleted history of oldwikisource:Wikisource:Medieval Texts.

He has participated in WS:COPYVIOs and WS:PD in the early days, for example adding "The Greatest Man in the World" to an existing COPYVIO thread, and creating Author:James Thurber, which was deleted before the Author namespace was introduced, which means it cant be undeleted via traditional means.

Recently he has been working on Index:A Welsh Grammar, Historical and Comparative and Index:A Dialect of Donegal, so he is going to be around for a while, and the tools wont go astray. John Vandenberg (chat) 12:35, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

  •  Comment @Mahagaja: You don't seem to have performed a single logged action in the last 12 months. Do you still have a real need for the tools? --Xover (talk) 03:55, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
    @Jusjih: I'll try to remember to use edit summaries more often, but if I'm just editing texts that no one is really working on but me, it seems a bit superfluous. I'll definitely try to use them more when it comes to edits that others are likely to see. @Xover: It's true I don't do a lot of stuff here that I need the tools for, but if I do see a vandal who needs to be blocked or a page that needs to be deleted, I'd be annoyed if I were no longer able to do so. I guess I've been an admin for so long that I've come to take the tools for granted. —Mahāgaja · talk 10:58, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
    @Mahagaja: Just checkin'… :) Xover (talk) 11:55, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
     Comment if you have the rights just in case you spot a vandalism, and you have not spotted any for a year despite the fact how much of it there is in Wikisource, then the possession of the tools is probably not really justifiable. Nor is the supposition of the tools being granted for one’s history. The tools are simply tools for specific tasks, not a reward for past deeds, however helpful they used to be. This has nothing to do with your mainspace contributions, which are very appreciated. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 12:43, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
