Not confirmed due to inactivity. Hesperian 22:06, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

admin since September 2005 (see previous discussions), currently inactive (contributions · logs · count · crossactivity). Yann will be removed automatically unless a simple majority of established users support continued access.

I don't know how to action this. It is not clear that @Yann: is resigning the bit; they seem rather to be saying that they won't be too fussed about losing it. It is not clear whether @Zyephyrus:' support vote is a support for continued access. It is not clear whether @DannyS712: and @BD2412: are neutral on the question of continued access, or assuming that Yann has resigned. It appears that @Xover: has not voted, on the assumption that Yann has resigned. Could I get some clarification please? Hesperian 22:29, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

I am neutral on both continued access, or the resignation - I think the user can be trusted, but since they aren't active do not actively support maintaining access, but don't oppose it either DannyS712 (talk) 22:36, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
I won't lose sleep if they keep the bit, but I would interpret the rule as requiring its removal, since it is clear that there are not a majority of participants in this discussion explicitly stating support for retaining it. BD2412 T 23:30, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, that makes things a bit clearer. My summary is:

  • Wikisource:Restricted access policy says "Inactive users automatically lose their restricted access in their next scheduled confirmation of the voting unless the community supports continued access." My reading of that is: it needs to be clear from the discussion that "the community supports continued access." In the absence of such clarity, the default position is to remove access.
  • The discussion reveals no strong community feeling either way, and therefore no real community support for retention of access.
  • Therefore access will be removed.

If the above doesn't upset anyone, I'll action removal tomorrow. Hesperian 03:15, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Indeed. I asked Yann in case they wanted to hang on to the tools, and would have supported that if they did. But since they indicated otherwise my intent was that the inactivity process should run its course. And that was also how I read the other comments in the thread. So my assessment would be that your summary is accurate, and actioning it is uncontroversial. --Xover (talk) 07:14, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
