Literal English Translation Original Latin Line

Rufa from Bononia sucks little Rufus,
Menenius' wife, who you have often seen at the burial grounds
stealing food from the funeral pyre for herself,
when she followed the bread that had rolled out of the fire
she would be beaten by the half-shaven cremator.

Bonōniēnsis Rūfa Rūfulum fellāt.
uxor Menēnī, saepe quam in sepulcrētis
vīdīistis ipsō rapere dē rogō cēnam,
cum dēvolūtum ex īgne prōsequens pānem
ab sēmirāsō tunderetur ūstorē.
